R&M Livestock

Livestock investment

R&M is seeking opportunities to invest in livestock purchased for fattening on pasture and on-sale within 6 months. We will consider various animal species, including lamb, young cattle, goats and pigs. R&M will not invest in livestock being fattened or otherwise held in feedlots.

R&M may extend invitations to others to co-invest with it. Anyone keen to receive such an invitation, or keen to secure livestock finance needs to express their interest by email to enquiries@rogersmorris.com.au.

R&M would, for example, generally expect a 25 kg lamb to add 20 kg in weight over about 3 months, and generally expect to effectively share the value of that increase with the farmer who’s responsible for providing forage, water, care, and so on.

Current and historical prices of lambs, young cattle and goat are shown on the MLA website under Indicator Reports.

Livestock finance

R&M is also seeking opportunities to provide short-term loans (generally for periods of up to 6 months) to farmers for the purpose of purchasing, fattening, and on-selling young livestock. These loans will ordinarily be secured by a 1st ranking security interest over the livestock. No security of real estate is generally required, nor are personal guarantees generally required. Interest rates on these loans are currently 1.25% per month and the maximum loan to value ratio 65%. As would be expected of any lender, we require details of the livestock to be financed and copies of annual and monthly financial statements for assessing loan applications.

R&M may extend invitations to others to co-lend with it. Anyone keen to receive such an invitation or keen to secure livestock finance, needs to express their interest by email to enquiries@rogersmorris.com.au.
